Bad weather unfortunately caused the Black Castle senior race to be cancelled on Wednesday 15^th August; the race will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

Fortunately sea conditions were good for races on Sunday 19^th August and  the juniors kicked things off with the junior sprints, with following results:

Under 8 Boys – 1^st Michael Mooney, 2^nd Charlie Brennan, 3^rd Harri Armstrong

Under 8 Girls – 1^st Mia Cowdrey, 2^nd Kim Humby, 3^rd Robyn Johnson

Under 10 Boys -1^st Ben Hudson, 2^nd Ciaran Carey, 3^rd Jamie Coleman-Kelly

Under 10 Girls –  1^st Robyn Brennan,  Joint 2^nd Dirren Drennan & Ciara Brennan

Under 12 Boys –  1^st Christopher Drennan, 2^nd Oisin O’Neill, 3^rd Ciaran Prendergast

Under 12 Girls-Anna Moulders, 2^nd Caoimhe Molloy, 3^rd Eve Cowdrey.

Round 9 of the Youths section was over a course 800 metres long which saw following result:

1^st Megan Sheerin, 2nd Sam Hennessy, 3^rd Jill Humby.

The Juniors then returned to the water for the 5^th Junior challenge of the year:

1^st Kim Humby, 2^nd Nikki Moulders, 3^rd Robyn Brennan, 4^th Dylan O’Donovan and

5^th Ciara Brennan, who has just returned to swimming after breaking her leg earlier in the year.

The main race of the day was the Club Vartry.  Eighty eight swimmers took to the water for a tough 2055 metre race.

Men’s result:  1^st Arron Fitzpatrick, 2^nd Gary Morton, 3^rd Shay Jameson, 4^th Ross O’Toole.

Ladies result:  1^st Joan Morton, 2^nd Aoife Fitzpatrick, 3^rd Katie O’neill, and 4th Cloina Byrne.
