Wicklow Swimming Club Results 3rd September 2015.

The swimming restrictions were lifted and racing took place on Thursday evening 3rd September. Conditions were cool and windy, keeping the races inside the harbor. Despite the weather, there were sixty two Juniors, Intermediate and Youth swimmers on the beach ready to compete in the relay race for the Conway cup, that is kindly sponsored by the Vize family. It was a very exciting race to watch as the lead changed hands several times and ended with the red team winning, led by, Amy Brennan captain and team mates Emma Kristensen, Ava frazer, Lauren Hassler, Jill Connolly, Erica Huilin, Mia McCann.

The seniors were swimming for the Tom Spillane cup, which is kindly sponsored by the Hudson family. It was a short swim of 800 meters but the water was cold and choppy for half the course, making it tough enough, Liz Clarke put in a great swim to take first place, with Cian Molloy in second,Donal McGuire third and Jane O’Neill in fourth place.
