Wicklow Swimming club, held its second morning of sea swimming on Sunday 6th June. One hundred and thirty eight swimmers of all ages braved the cold water temperatures to compete in races.

The Juniors started things off with the Junior Sprints.

Under 6 Boys: 1st Kian Copeland 2nd Conor Marah.

Under 6 Girls: 1st Fiana Armstrong 2nd Taelor Sherry.

Under 8 Boys: 1st Des Brennan 2nd David Johnstone 3rd Chris Huilin.

Under 8 Girls: 1st Ruby Hasler 2nd Jill Connolly 3rd Aoife Marah.

Under 10 Boys:1st Mike Connolly 2nd Rhys Davies 3rd Brian Johnstone.

Under 10 Girls:1st Ria Gregory & Saoirse Dolan 3rd Sienna Brennan.

Under 12 Boys: 1st Ben Lawless 2nd Luigi Rea.

Under 12 Girls: 1st Sarah Flood 2nd Lauren Hasler 3rd Robyn Johnstone.

In the next race, 19 intermediates swam for the Cox cup; 1st Mia Kristensen, 2nd Lilly Devitt, 3rd Eva Frazer.

12 young people swam in the second Youths race of the year; 1st Emmily Clarke, 2nd Aoife Marie Sheeky, 3rd Emma Smith.

The Mark Byrne cup was up for grabs in the senior race and had 73 swimmers competing for it; 1st Tara Killalae, 2nd Ronan Conway, 3rd Colm Colahan.

Races start next week, Sunday 14th June at 10.15am Junior Sprints, 10.30am Junior Challenge 11 am Jack Malone cup – Intermediate, 11.30am Youths and 12 noon the seniors swim for the Bank of Ireland cup.
